The latest event on Saturday saw Worcester Music Festival hosted at The Hive for an all-signing all-dancing, one-off spectacular public event to showcase some of the best musical talent from across the county.

The atmosphere at the Music Festival was buzzing as 1701 music enthusiasts visited The Hive during the day to enjoy the variety of performances, get hands on in the workshops and for the first time explore level one and two of this fantastic, soon to open, community and cultural building for Worcestershire.

The delightful sound of Worcester Area Youth Choir aged 7-11 years kicked-off the event followed by the exciting and full of life Snoezelen Rock School who got the audience involved, singing along to well-known songs from the likes of Oasis.

There were performances from genres to suit all tastes from traditional folk tunes from Kings and Folk to The Best of Young Jazz and solo performer Theo who dazzled with his guitar and drum acrobatics.

The audience were captivated by Worcester folk and county singer Marie-Claire Berreen while Das Sexy Clap and Johnny Kowalski and The Sexy Weirdo's had large audiences on their feet moving to their pulsating sounds.

Worcester Music Festival at The Hive was the final public preview event before The Hive officially opens on Monday 2nd July. The three sneaky preview events; 12 Moves, Literally in a Day and Worcester Music Festival saw a staggering 5,600 visitors through the doors to enjoy the spectacular line-up.

Steve Wilson County Arts Officer at Worcestershire County Council, said: "Each event has been very different and on Saturday we had the audience coming in to see an exciting line-up of music performances. These sneak preview events have really tested the building ready for opening while at the same time showcasing so much of what is great in the arts across the County. The Hive has been and will continue to be a fantastic space for events once open in July. The public have clearly enjoyed the events we have organised and are looking forward to using the building once open."
