The Hive to make social media BUZZ!

The Hive to make social media BUZZ!

With just months to go before the opening of The Hive, new Facebook and Twitter pages have been launched to keep everyone up-to-date with the latest news and developments.

Built in partnership between Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester, The Hive is a landmark building for the county, bringing together the first fully integrated public and University library, children's library, archives and archaeology service, business centre and Worcester Hub customer contact centre.

The launch of Facebook and Twitter pages will allow followers to be the first to find out the latest news and developments relating to the iconic venue. They will get updates on key milestones as The Hive nears completion as well as finding out about exciting forthcoming sneaky preview events.

The Hive's eye-catching exterior is really starting to take shape with the finishing touches now being applied. Followers of The Hive's Twitter and Facebook pages will also be the first to see exclusive photographs of the building’s inner-shell, which promises to be just as impressive.

The Hive is a modern and striking community building which celebrates the county's history, with its design based around the Malvern Hills and the historic pottery kilns that made Worcestershire world-famous. Facebook and Twitter will also allow people to get involved with the project and comment on the building's design.

Kathy Kirk, Strategic Libraries and Learning Manager at Worcestershire County Council, said: "The Hive is already creating a buzz around the county and social media is another great way for busy people to keep tuned into developments as they gather pace next year.”

Anne Hannaford, Director of Information and Learning Services at the University of Worcester, added: "The Hive will provide imaginative opportunities for learning for all ages, with the first fully integrated university and public library in the country, working closely with the superb records, archives and archaeology collections. We hope people will sign up to our Facebook and Twitter pages and share the excitement as we plan to open this wonderful new facility."
